Indian Cemeteries

The Tadanac Cemetery was in use prior to 1926 and can only be reached by water. It is located on the property owned by the ‘Tadanac Club” and not on the reserve.

We found the remains of the little houses that were commonly erected over the graves in the early Indian days. We found only three had survived the weather and time had done the rest so making the place look desolated. We located five graves but evidence of many, many graves

Pioneer Memorial to those who died or were killed on the old saw mill trail along the Moon River in the year 1861.

This Cemetery is well maintained and many graves had fresh flowers around them. There are eleven wooden crosses and 23 graves at least with no identification.
